The Sound of the Baskervilles Welcomes the Holiday Season

The December 7, 2019 Will Crakes Memorial Jollification was hosted by SOB Member Carrol Clemens. She had already decorated her home with lovely Christmas items and decorated the tree so everything looked wonderful!

Shannon, Kashena, Dawn, Cameron, Geoff, Cara, Carrol, Judy, Jean, Margie, Sheila, and Al & Margaret brought all sorts of delicious goodies for the buffet and we spent some time chatting and eating. Kashena then updated us on December events including picking a day to attend SOB Member John Longenbaugh’s play—an excellent mashup of Dicken’s “A Christmas Carol” and Conan Doyle’s creation— “Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Christmas Carol” in Olympia and Ken Ludwig’s play “Holmes for the Holidays” at the Tacoma Little Theater.

For entertainment, SOB Member Margie read a “mysterious” story about Sherlock and then passed out a game requiring identification of famous quotes whose clues were only the name of the tale and the first letter of each word—not easy to solve! Sheila then took over and lead us in a hansom cab song followed by her quiz of English slang words. We all enjoyed working in teams to solve both puzzle sheets.

We finished with our always-free raffle for several very nice items, and a good time was had by all! Thank you, Carrol for inviting us to your home!
